Coffee Roasts: Where you can discover new tastes of roasts in the world
Coffee roasts in the world - Discover the tastes
Coffee roasts are one of the most important parts of producing a delicious cup. There are four main types of roasts, which all have very different flavors, so you're guaranteed to find one you like. A light roast tastes fruity and has savory, grassy notes. Medium roasts are like a blend of the light and dark, but they have a fruity, chocolatey taste. Dark roasts have a strong, smoky flavor and are very bold. Espresso roasts are the darkest of all, with a very bitter taste and a distinct note of chocolate.
The different types of coffee roast out there
There are three main types of roasts: light roast, medium roast, and dark roast. Light roasts have a very low level of "roasted" flavor and no aftertaste. They are not oily and are usually brighter in flavor. They are usually served with breakfast or as a "second cup". Medium roasts have a stronger flavor, are slightly more oily, and have a light aftertaste of roasted beans. They are usually served as the standard cup of coffee and are best served hot. Dark roasts have a deep, roasted flavor and a strong, oily texture. They have a strong "roasted" aftertaste, and they're usually served cold. Dark roast is also called French roast and is the traditional blend used in diner coffee.
The basics of coffee roasting
Our roaster and artisan coffee beans offer you a gourmet experience.
If you're curious about how to roast your own coffee beans, we have the basics here for you.
First, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the beans out on a cookie tray and roast for about 12–15 minutes. You'll know your beans are done when you start to smell that enticing aroma!
Then, cool the beans down by spreading them out on a towel and wait for them to fully cool down.
Now that you know how to roast your own beans, you can try different flavors. We recommend our most popular beans: Colombia, Brazil, Sumatra, and Mexico.
